Overview
The 2002 Subaru Legacy L was available as a mid-level sedan in 3trims: GT, L, and GT Limited and as a wagon in GT and L trim. It was developed in AWD (all-wheel drive system) form, and the GT model was included with the sporty suspension and larger wheels.
Noteworthy Features
It had other goodies like lighted ignition-switch, bigger brakes, heated mirrors, side impact-bags, all-weather package and wiper de-icer. This model was equipped with 2.5-ltr engine, which produced up to 165 horsepower, in tandem with five speed manual transmission, while four speed automatic transmissions was optional on GT model.
The base model L wagons and sedan was designed with keyless entry, cruise control, foglights and a power driver’s seat; ABS was standard on base L model.
The Good & Bad
The 2002 Legacy was most popular for flexibility; it had a great 68.6 cubic feet of cargo room along with the foldable seats. However, the sedans did not have folding option, though they had superior handling
Downsides of the vehicle included shortage of sufficient power punch, and even the gas mileage was not satisfactory in the city premises.
